Galapagos Trip Planner for ChatGPT, Claude and AI Assistants

In short: add https://galapagosislands.info/mcp as a connector (no sign-in) and ask your assistant about a Galápagos trip. It calls our tools for costs, ferry times, fees, weather and wildlife instead of guessing, and in ChatGPT and Claude it shows a cost receipt, a ferry departures board and a route map.

The Galapagos Trip Planner app is in review for the ChatGPT app directory. Until it is listed, ChatGPT users with developer mode can add it themselves: Settings → Apps → Advanced settings → Developer mode, then Create app with the URL https://galapagosislands.info/mcp and authentication None.

The tools

Every tool only reads: it computes an answer from the trip details you give and changes nothing. Server version 1.0.1.

Tool	What it answers
Galápagos trip cost `estimate_trip_cost` shows a card	When you wants to know what a Galápagos trip costs or needs a budget. Adds up the national park fee, transit control card, return flight from Quito or Guayaquil, an optional airport hotel night, hotels or a cruise, ferries, water taxis, the Isabela dock fee, day tours and food for the given days, travellers, style and islands. Returns every line, the total, per person and per person per day in US dollars, and shows a printed receipt card. All inputs are optional.
Land-based or cruise? `land_or_cruise`	When you cannot decide between a Galápagos cruise and a land-based (island-hopping from hotels) trip. Scores six answers (budget per person, how they feel on boats, remote islands or freedom, who travels, how far ahead they book, wish for town life) and returns cruise, land-based or a close call with the reasons and an 8-day cost comparison. Every answer is optional; a missing one counts as the middle option.
Galápagos ferry board `ferry_board` shows a card	For inter-island ferry (public speedboat) questions in the Galápagos: departure times between Santa Cruz (Puerto Ayora), Isabela (Puerto Villamil), San Cristóbal (Puerto Baquerizo Moreno) and Floreana, crossing time, fares, water taxi and dock fees, and how rough the crossing usually is in a month (seasickness meter 1–5, morning or afternoon boat). Shows a live departures board card.
Galápagos island-hopping plan `plan_itinerary` shows a card	When you wants a day-by-day Galápagos itinerary for a land-based (island-hopping) trip: which islands, how many nights on each, ferry days and what to do each day for a wildlife, snorkelling or budget focus, from arrival at Baltra (GPS) or San Cristóbal (SCY) to departure. Shows a route map card. All inputs are optional.
Galápagos month by month `month_guide`	When you asks about the Galápagos in a given month or the best time to visit: air and sea temperature, typical rain, sea state and ferry seasickness level, crowds, wetsuit advice, and what the wildlife is doing that month (albatross, booby courtship, turtle nesting, whale and hammerhead season and more).
Galápagos wildlife finder `find_wildlife`	When you asks where or when to see an animal in the Galápagos (giant tortoise, marine or land iguana, sea lion, blue-footed, red-footed or Nazca booby, penguin, flightless cormorant, frigatebird, Darwin's finches, green turtle, Sally Lightfoot crab, flamingo, whitetip reef shark, fur seal, waved albatross, hammerhead, red-lipped batfish), or which animals they can see in a month or around an island. Returns the odds, best months, sites with how to reach them, a fun fact and the Big 15 bingo card.
Galápagos park fee and entry rules `entry_rules`	For the Galápagos national park entrance fee, the transit control card (TCT) and the entry and visitor rules: fee by nationality group and age, total for a group, where and when each is paid, return ticket, health insurance, stay limit, biosecurity (banned food and plant items), naturalist guides, the 2-metre rule, drones, currency and ATMs, each with its official source.
Galápagos visitor site `visitor_site`	For a named Galápagos visitor site or to list the main ones by island: Kicker Rock, Tortuga Bay, Las Grietas, North Seymour, Bartolomé, Los Túneles, Sierra Negra and others. Returns how to get there (walk-in or boat tour), duration, best months and what you see.
Galápagos weather now `live_conditions`	When you asks about the weather or sea temperature in the Galápagos right now or today: air temperature, sky, wind, rain in the next hour and satellite sea surface temperature for Puerto Ayora, Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, Puerto Villamil and Puerto Velasco Ibarra, with the local time. For typical weather in a month use month_guide.

The app runs the same code as the pages on this site: the trip cost calculator, the itinerary planner, the land-or-cruise quiz, the ferry board, the month-by-month guide and the wildlife pages. Fees and rules come from the Galápagos government and national park; the sources are listed on each page and on the About page. Every answer ends with a link to the matching page.

Privacy

The tools need only trip details such as days, travellers, month or an animal's name. They never ask for your name, contact or payment details, and our server does not store what was asked. Details: privacy.

Is this official?

No. galapagosislands.info is an independent guide, not the Galápagos National Park, the Galápagos government or a tour operator. Fees and rules are set by the Galápagos authorities; check the official source before you travel.
